If only you choose
If you feel that you are right to be immersed in any of these emotions, then you have lost the plot.
Robert Greene, in the book Mastery, talks about how humans’ ability to focus on anything we want is what sets our species apart from the rest. Humans can learn absolutely anything, if only we focus on it. From understanding the behavior of raccoons to earthquakes, it’s this specific aspect, which continuously helps us survive in spite of the unfavorable odds we face.
Today, more than ever, staying on course of your goal and keep inching forward has become a skill. We have so many distractions on our path to a valuable day. We have so many things that can stop us from looking at opportunities that can transform our lives.
Today, more than ever, being laser focused on creating value has become a skill. Focusing on ways to climb the hill, despite unfavorable odds, is a skill. Being in the game is a skill. Consistently looking for opportunities and acting on them is a skill. Spending every ounce of energy in pursuit of happiness, value creation and impact is a skill.
You can either focus on things that are important to you or you can get scattered everywhere. You can either keep chasing the questions that trouble you or grudge how nothing is under your control.
In this world of trillion opportunities, just choosing to focus can make an entire world of change to your life. If only you choose.
