You have a dream. An idea. A belief. A conviction.
You want to change the world.
But the world keeps telling you that you have not “succeeded” yet. You are not there yet. In the world of binaries, the successful people are the “1”s. The rest are “0”. It doesn’t matter if you have tried for years to make it as an actor or an entrepreneur or a sports person. You are still a 0. Unless you got that million dollar deal, of course.
Fake it till you make it, you are told.
This idea still reinforces the belief that it’s a binary world. Either you have made it or haven’t. So when you haven’t made it, just act like one, till you make it.
Just fake it till you make it. Don’t care about what others say.
But what if we are seeing the entire argument with the wrong lens?
What if your dreams are not binary? What if I say there is no distinction between “dreaming” and “achieving”? What if, by dreaming you are already on the path to achieving it?
So then what stops you from achieving your dreams? You.
When you are still on the journey of your dreams, it can be easy to think of ways you can go wrong. It is easy to keep doubting that it will happen. But what you want to avoid in the future becomes the demon of today. We end up creating our own demons this way!
Does this mean your beliefs about yourself is more important than the capabilities you have?
Believing in something more than what the reality tells you, helps in pushing the limits. Take any major inventors and entrepreneurs who have lived. Imagine if Socrates or Newton or Wright brothers just believed in what the world told them, what “reality” told them — where would we be today?
In fact, if you don’t go beyond just what you have seen and heard, you are in your comfort zone.
Pushing the boundary means that sometimes you are adding unverifiable beliefs to your life and making them real. If a belief can make or break governments, why it can’t make or break you?
A thought is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Enough time and focus, every thought you have, has the capability to become truth.
There are no “yes ” or “no” states in your journey to do the unthinkable. There is only one state — the “becoming” state.
